Personal Construct Psychology for Coaching & Consulting

Untitled 2This programme is designed for people working as coaches, consultants or facilitators in organisations.  You may already work with Personal Construct Psychology (PCP), or you may be hoping to develop an understanding of this fascinating and creative approach. We will be exploring a variety of PCP and constructivist approaches to supporting personal and professional change.

With its focus on the developmental challenges of change in a social world, the philosophy and theory of PCP offer a robust and comprehensive framework for coaching & consulting practice. These are fast-growing fields of application in PCP, and students will be located at the leading edge of professional development in this area.

The programme will include opportunities to:

  • discover and learn more about key aspects of PCP philosophy, theory and practice
  • explore new ways to work with personal, professional, and organisational change
  • examine our personal understandings of our role as coaches and consultants
  • experiment creatively with ideas of personal meaning-making, core values, and beliefs
  • develop alternative understandings and approaches to change and ‘resistance’ to change
  • practice and develop a range of skills to lead and support constructive conversations with individuals and in teams
  • develop new insights into working with creatively with individuals, groups, and systems

At the heart of the programme is an immersive 3-day residential event in Monteortone (Abano Terme), near Padua, which is accessible from Venice or Treviso airports. We will be happy to advise and support you with your travel and connections.

Our working home is Residenza San Marco, a 400 year old monastery in lovely Italian countryside. The accommodation includes simple en-suite rooms and good home-cooked meals, and the atmosphere is quiet, peaceful, and friendly.

Follow-up

Online support will be available after the programme to facilitate your development in practice, and we will keep you connected with the wider PCP community for ongoing support, discussion, and development opportunities.

Please note, this programme is not a training or accreditation for people wishing to become coaches or consultants. It is designed for those already working in similar roles, who are seeking an exciting and challenging introduction to PCP, or for those with PCP experience who wish to develop and strengthen their understanding and use of the theory in coaching & consulting practice.
